Fred's Curriculum Vitae

 

Fred Padula is a photographer and filmmaker best known for the classic climbing film El Capitan and for aerial landscape photographs that he has shot while piloting his own small single-engine plane

 

Ephesus, Fred Padula’s first film was completed in 1965 and won the Zellerbach Award at the San Francisco International Film Festival. It then went on to win awards in several countries including Italy, France and Germany. His other films including El Capitan have also received awards in many festivals.

 

Fred’s education is in music and art, he has taught film and photography at various universities including University of Minnesota, San Francisco State University, the University of California, and the San Francisco Art Institute.

 

His photography has been exhibited in one-man shows at many museums including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, De Young Museum, George Eastman House, and Walker Art Center.

 

He lives in the San Francisco Bay area and continues to work in film and Photography.
